The game of cricket has captured the passion of many countries all over the world, particularly those that were former British colonies. Examples of countries where cricket is popular include India, Australia, South Africa and, of course, England. The game is played on an oval field by two teams of eleven men. This is a bat and ball type of sport which means that teams alternate in going at bat to score runs while the other team would play the field and prevent the batter from scoring. The game of cricket is very similar to baseball because they share the same ancestor in the game of Stoolball. In India, they have a Cricket Premier League there with some of the best teams including the Delhi Daredevils and the Chennai Super Kings. Various nations also compete against each other with India and England being the dominant squads in World Cricket competitions.
